Guide: Create a report "Opened/Closed Requests Per Department"

open new report build on Opened/Closed Requests Per Priority / Urgency template then make this changes:
(in the prompt section)
1.replace the report title
<span class="title02">$rb.getString("report.openClosedPriorityUrgency")</span>
with the name of report you want.
ex: <span class="title02">Opened/Closed Requests Per Department</span>
2. delete
<tr><td class="Label04">$rb.getString("report.grouping"):</td>
<td>
${groupingPriorityUrgencyDesign}
</td>
<td> </td></tr>
(in the script section)
1.replace
groupingSelection=requestParams.get("groupingSelection");
with
groupingSelection="Department";

2. increase the Hashtable from 10 to 14 and add the department sql field :
name2Field = new Hashtable(14);
name2Field.put("Department", "u.department");

3. find this condition
if (company>0 || groupingSelection.equals("Company") || customSQL.indexOf("u.company")!=-1 || customSQL.indexOf("u.department")!=-1 ) {
and add this
|| groupingSelection.equals("Department")
after -1 and before ) {

4. find
} else if (groupingSelection.equals("Urgency")) {
...}
then add
else if (groupingSelection.equals("Department")) {
intVal = true;
custValues = loginBean.getDepartments();
isNotNull = fieldName + " >0 ";
}

Locations in 1 and 2 don't exist in 6.5! Please would these instructions be updated?

I've tried to do this, double-checking my work, but no data can be found.

So I'll create a support request, ho hum.

I wonder why such a commonly requested report isn't included as default, all this additional work creates an unnecessary strain on the customer and the Ilient support guys

I've got 7.0.0.5 and I'd love to be able to get this report. The report wizard doesn't work and in my java script under prompt I can't find anything resembling this script.

Did you tried the Report Wizard to create new reports?
You can also edit reports to suite to your needs.

Hi

The "Opened/Closed Requests Per Department", is it applicable to version 8.0.6 as I dont find any of the code that needs to be deleted or replace?

Hi Razor,

Welcome to our community.

This report is available for any of the Open\Close reports because you can use the Custom Filter's "Expression Builder" to set Department is....

But what about if I want the Department as the grouping... I mean I dont want to create one report per each department.
How can I create that report??

Would love to have this report as well. We just upgraded to v8.1.03. Have wanted this report for years and never able to get it just right. Want to report on open/closed service requests by Department for specific periods of time. If anyone get this right I would be ever greatful!
