New SysAid Agent for RedHat Enterprise Linux

Hey everyone,

We are currently in the process of finalizing the development of a new generation of the SysAid Agent service for Linux, and would like to offer you to test it for yourself!

If you are interested, go ahead and download the attached file and follow the installation instructions.

Prerequisites

SysAid Server running SysAid 19.4.40 and above

RedHat Enterprise Linux v 7.3 and above.

Root permissions to Install the SysAid Agent.

Automatic Upgrade

Work directly with SysAid server or through an RDS

Installation instructions
1. Download the RPM package from http://bit.ly/2019LabsAget01

2. Run the following command:
sudo rpm -i <path to the Sysaid agent rpm file>
e.g.
sudo rpm -i /home/joe/download/SysAidAgent_19.4.40.rpm

3. After the installation is complete, run the following command:
/usr/lib64/SysAid/SetupAgentSettings.out --serverURL=<The SysAid server URL> --account=<The SysAid Acout> --serial=<SysAid serial>
e.g.
/usr/lib64/SysAid/SetupAgentSettings.out --serverURL=linuxjoe.sysaidit.com --account=linuxjoe --serial=0123456789

4. Optional arguments (if you want to use an RDS): rdsName and rdsUrl

/usr/lib64/SysAid/SetupAgentSettings.out --serverURL=<The SysAid server URL> --account=<The SysAid Account> --serial=<SysAid serial> --rdsName=<Name of the RDS> --rdsUrl=<URL of the RDS>
Eg.

/usr/lib64/SysAid/SetupAgentSettings.out --account=linuxjoe --serial=01234567890 --serverURL=https://agentjoe.sysaidit.com --rdsName=RDS1 --rdsUrl=http://10.1.1.22:8080

5. Additional deployment parameters can be provided, for more details you can run this command:
/usr/lib64/SysAid/SetupAgentSettings.out --help

4. Removal instructions:
To remove the SysAid Agent from the machine run the following command:
sudo rpm -e SysAidAgent
