Hello,

Does SysAid allow for a notification configuration to notify a user (not admin group or admin or requesting user) when an action step is assigned to them and needs to be completed?

Thank you

Yes, SysAid allows for the configuration of notifications to notify a user when an action step is assigned to them and needs to be completed. Here are the steps to set this up:

1. **Log in to your SysAid Administrator account.**

2. **Navigate to Settings > Service Desk > Notifications.**

3. **Create a New Notification Rule:**
- Click on the 'New' button to create a new notification rule.
- Define the criteria for the notification rule to trigger. For example, set it to trigger when an action step is assigned to a user.

4. **Configure the Notification Details:**
- In the 'Actions' section, select 'Send email'.
- Click on the 'Browse' button to open a list of users and select the user you wish to notify. You can also manually enter their email address in the 'Mail Recipients' field.
- Configure the 'Mail Subject' and 'Mail Body' as needed, using tags for dynamic content. You can find more details on available tags here: [SysAid Custom Notification Form](https://documentation.sysaid.com/docs/custom-notification-form).

5. **Save the Rule:**
- Save the rule to ensure that the selected user will receive an email notification whenever an action step is assigned to them.

6. **Test the Configuration:**
- Test the configuration by assigning an action step to the user to verify that they receive the email notification as intended.

If you encounter any difficulties or require further assistance with these steps, please let me know, and we can explore additional troubleshooting options or consider opening a Service Record for support.

Thank you AI, but i’m not wanting to hardcode a user to notify, i want the notification to be sent to the user that is selected within the “assigned to” field

Hi @ggomez

If you create a template and configure an action item within that template, for example, to require approval from a user in order to proceed with the request, the designated approver will receive a notification via the workflow notification system. Please note that each action item is capable of sending one notification.

For more information related to actions items configuration please check the following documentation: https://documentation.sysaid.com/docs/edit-request-template.
