Default Closure Information - Spaces

When in Classic View and Design Form mode, I note the Closure Information field has a default value of 1, meaning it will automatically default to ‘Solved (Permanently) on every ticket. How can the same be set up in Spaces? I’ve checked out the forms in Ticket Templates & Workflows but can’t find a similar set up.

Thanks.

## Default “Closure Information” in Spaces

In Spaces, the Resolve dialog isn’t fully form‑configurable like Classic. You can’t set a field‑level default for “Closure Information” via the Spaces form or Ticket Templates & Workflows.

What you can do instead:
- Set/adjust the value list itself (keys/captions): Settings > Customize > Fields / Value Lists > Closure Information.
- Enforce it when closing: make Closure Information required for Closed statuses in the subtype form (Classic): Settings > Service Desk > Subtypes > [Subtype] > Design Form > Closure Information > Required for statuses = Closed.
- Automation workaround to set a default on close: create an Escalation Rule that triggers when Status Class = Closed AND Closure Information is empty, and sets Closure Information = “Solved (Permanently).”

If you need true defaulting like Classic’s “Default value,” this is not currently available in Spaces and would require a product enhancement. If you want, open a Service Record to have Support link your account to the existing feature request for customizing the Spaces resolve panel and defaults.
