We will fairly regularly find assets that have stale data, such as showing an older build of Windows 10 than what is currently installed. Upon checking the Activity Log, we always are greeted by a slew of entries stating: Error Description Unexpected exception occurred, Type: System.BadImageFormatException Exception description: Could not load file or assembly 'ZipCs, Version=0.86.0.518, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. HI,I’m starting to setup a global asset system, ( asset lists) ,I wish to create first, sections for each site\region &groups , ( global zones)for each region I will need to setup some rules; filters like -working days, working houres, and create filtering by that.than I will wish to create reporting for each zone, (for clients reports ) If you can please advise,Regards,
Normally with assets like PC’s, Laptops, we just install the agent and let it automatically populate the asset and the CI.We just received a very large batch of laptops that we likely won’t be deploying for a while, so I’d like to get them into Sysaid but don’t want to image/deploy the agent just yet. We’ve never utilized the asset import feature. If I import these assets, then later install the agent on them, will it link to the existing record or will it create a duplicate? Also, upon importing the assets, will it automatically create the CI record as well (like when deploying the agent), or will we need to import again to the CI list?Thank you for any direction you can provide!
Afternoon FolksPutting this here in case it can help someone else and so I don’t forgetI installed the latest rpm from on=prem build v22.4.45 b2 wget https://your-install-url/download/SysAidAgent.rpm sudo yum localinstall SysAidAgent.rpm sudo ./usr/bin/SysAid/SetupAgentSettings.out note: if your SetupAgentSettings.out isn’t there run find / -name SetupAgentSettings.out and substitute the path This will run and ask for your server url.. make sure to use http: or https: depending on your setup then Account name and then Serial number Answer any additional dialogs to match your particular setupThen wait for it to report in Good luck John
Has anyone had any success with deploying the SysAid Agent for Mac and having a configuration file that populates with URL, Serial and account? We use Jamf Pro to push out apps and configurations for our macs and I can get the package to install, but it doesn’t fill in the above information. We do not use the RDS for Mac. Thanks!
Hey everyone,So I am working and rolling out SysAid here at my school district and the one thing we have liked about asset tracking systems is that I can check out a device to a user to be able to track who has it. Does SysAid have this functionality? Otherwise how have folks done this before?
Hello - We are looking to keep track of licensing for our SaaS products by user and count. For example... We currently use Snipe-it to track what licenses are assigned to what user. 5 Licenses for Adobe Pro Cloud -User1 -User2 -User3 All 3 Users are assigned a license 5 Licenses for PlanGrid -User 3 -User 4 -User 5 Would we be able to keep track of who is assigned those licenses in SysAid? - Could we look up User 3 and see that they have a license for Adobe Pro and PlanGrid - Look up User 2 and see they are only assigned Adobe Pro. - Then organize it so we can look up PlanGrid and see that User 3, 4, and 5 are assigned a license - Also have it keep track of license counts when we add/remove users. Hope this makes sense!
I am trying to run a report that will show how many instances of particular products we have installed on our assets. I can see the software tab under each of the assets and this shows the data for each asset but I am looking for a consolidated view of, for example, all machines with IE 11 installed. When trying to create the report there doesn't appear to be any field to pull out software items. Please can you advise if there is a way to do this?
Hello Everybody! We are trying to do a massive import of items to our CMDB, but I find this problems; Error in line 1 (or 2,3,...)= -1 If I have a CSV file with multiple CI from the same Type, has all the fields be completed? I mean, in a list of 20 laptops, some has "Assignament Date" but not others... Is necessary to all CI has the same completed fields? Where can I check a Log about this? Many Thanks.
Ive turned on patch management for a number of agent/assets. Ive configured the default workstation policy and assigned it to the assets and set it to “run now” for the scan of the assets. Nothing seems to show up on my assets for patches….It catalogs what software is installed on the workstations for inventory without issue. Ive opened ports 1070 and 1072 I believe it is on the server to access the latest files. Do I have to wait for the scheduled scan? It should have run when it was turned on…..should this not detect its running Windows 10 and pull down the master list of patches missing and available for Windows 10? Ive already turned on all patch categories and selected Windows 10 to be patched.
Please share any information you have on the “Update CI relations” function under Settings> CMDB> Import System Items. What exactly is updated?Does it look at the software on a laptop and connect it with the software product in the CMDB?Is this update run automatically, like the Asset Import/Delete function, or does it have to be run manually? Thanks for any information you can provide.Heidi
I am working on the setting for the Asset to CI import and there are some things which don’t make sense. Is there a best practices document? These are my questions so far:When the import is done, is the CI Type set to Asset? Why is Asset field “Disabled” not available? How will I know in the CI that an asset is disabled? Do I now need to manually update the item in both the Asset and CI lists? Ideally, Disabled would match with the CI Status field. Where does the Asset Type field go? I would like Asset Type = CI Sub Type field, but CI Type and CI Sub Type are not options in the field selections drop down. And for more esoteric questions:Why is there not a filter on the import? I would like to pick the type of asset to import. Servers = yes. Laptops = no. Why does the Model field type not match in Asset and CI (text and integer respectively)?Below is how I’ve set the import screen so far. The highlighted fields are the ones I’m questioning. (I have to add a couple of custom fields s
We are deploying the agent through MSI. What setting should we use to disable the Screen capture pop up when the agent shortcut is used? It really delays the end users ability to start their ticket and we do not want it to appear. We do want them to have the ability to submit a screenshot though. Thanks!
The instructions I've included attached to this post, are AS IS, no warranty implied. You break it, you buy it. SysAid obviously doesn't condone this either. Traditionally in order to use the MSI to deploy the agents, you had to use ORCA, to create an MST file for your Group policy to reference the options while running the MSI. I was of the opinion that there should be some way for the agent to be installed silently without giving away our Account ID and serial number to say an end user who's not inside the network, that you need to put the agent on it. After all end user's don't need to know those values, and frankly the less involved they are, sometimes the better. I've successfully done this on the last few releases of the MSI. This allows me to build an MSI for each division I have that wants a different shortcut key for the desktop icon. Be warned that if you have UAC on, or Windows 8/8.1/10, you'll need to run an elevated command prompt to install this. It also will not
I need help. This is an ongoing problem. I install the software using the deployment tool from the cloud SYSAID and yet the asset does not appear in my Asset list. I have a mix of Assets that are either connected to the RDS server or the SYSAID Server. I tried to undeploy and redeploy my workstation and it still shows SYSAID server! How do I fix this. Thank you
I need to determine which Windows users are logging into their computers using a local Windows account instead of their Microsoft 365 AzureAD account. From Asset Management > Asset List > specific asset > Login History, it appears that this information there. Is it possible to get a report of all assets and their latest login information, including user name? This would probably answer my question of who is logging in using a local account.
