How to Modify SysAid Agent MSI directly

The instructions I've included attached to this post, are AS IS, no warranty implied. You break it, you buy it. SysAid obviously doesn't condone this either. Traditionally in order to use the MSI to deploy the agents, you had to use ORCA, to create an MST file for your Group policy to reference the options while running the MSI. I was of the opinion that there should be some way for the agent to be installed silently without giving away our Account ID and serial number to say an end user who's not inside the network, that you need to put the agent on it. After all end user's don't need to know those values, and frankly the less involved they are, sometimes the better. I've successfully done this on the last few releases of the MSI. This allows me to build an MSI for each division I have that wants a different shortcut key for the desktop icon. Be warned that if you have UAC on, or Windows 8/8.1/10, you'll need to run an elevated command prompt to install this. It also will not

RDS server v SYSAID server

I need help. This is an ongoing problem. I install the software using the deployment tool from the cloud SYSAID and yet the asset does not appear in my Asset list. I have a mix of Assets that are either connected to the RDS server or the SYSAID Server. I tried to undeploy and redeploy my workstation and it still shows SYSAID server! How do I fix this. Thank you

Report assets' login history, to show local Windows account use

I need to determine which Windows users are logging into their computers using a local Windows account instead of their Microsoft 365 AzureAD account. From Asset Management > Asset List > specific asset > Login History, it appears that this information there. Is it possible to get a report of all assets and their latest login information, including user name? This would probably answer my question of who is logging in using a local account.

Run Report on Installed software

I am trying to run a report that will show how many instances of particular products we have installed on our assets. I can see the software tab under each of the assets and this shows the data for each asset but I am looking for a consolidated view of, for example, all machines with IE 11 installed. When trying to create the report there doesn't appear to be any field to pull out software items. Please can you advise if there is a way to do this?

Asset Allocation Tracking

Hello, We are using SysAid Helpdesk Edition on cloud and current version is v22.2.40 b40. We would like to track the allocation history for each of the IT assets. We dont see a direct option to do this other than entering the custom notes. The information we need to track are User name, Allotted date, Returned date, Remarks. There will be multiple entries if an assets are handed over from one user to other. Currently these information we enter in the custom notes. Is there a better way of handling this in sysaid. Thank you.

Scan a Custom Path during Inventory

Is there a way to scan a specific path for current EXE files that are located there. I have a tool that is a standalone EXE and would like to know what version of the EXE is installed on machines. I would even be happy with just knowing that it exist on a machine.

New Installations get no Asset ID and don't transfer data to the server

onpremise newest version SQL 2017 DB Hi, I have a problem with new Agent Installations(Fujitsu Lifebooks like U7511). After installation(manual or automated, MSI or exe) the agent is not sending the first data to the server. Export/Import issues

When migrating assets and users from one server instance to another there seems to be an issue. This may of course be an issue of my comprehension - failure to read correct docs etc. Export of assets [or users] to CSV works fine; SysAid produces a valid CSV file. However when one seeks to Import the same file into another instance of SysAid the product does not have an "option" which automatically recognises its own CSV files. Worse, when one comes to select the various possible headings under which the existing fields of the CSV should be imported, the names in the dropdown selector don't match up in any meaningful fashion with the names/labels of fields as normally displayed in SysAid pages - so one has great difficulty determining which labels should be selected. These mappings of source data to target should be entirely automatic unless the sysadmin elects to make manual changes - which should be a discrete and separate import option.. In other words on import SysAid should

Problem import location and Department.

Hello, I have a little problem with the import of some Hardware assets. I have an csv file with more then 700 assets. for exemple: WORKABOUTPRO_100,\IT,PDA,Psion Teklogix,WORKABOUT PRO,8279S002546,Kaemingk b.v.,10.10.10.100,Kantoor,Systeembeheer,Kantoor Automatisering, WORKABOUTPRO_16,\IT,PDA,Psion Teklogix,WORKABOUT PRO,8265U061056,Kaemingk b.v.,10.10.10.16,Bismarck,Bismarck,Kantoor Bismarck, ... ... On position 10 and 11 there is the department and location. But this is the only thing that he doesnt import propertly/ In sysaid i'd typed all of hour locations and departments in the customized list. Any idea what i am doing wrong?

MSI setting to disable Screen/Video capture pop up

We are deploying the agent through MSI. What setting should we use to disable the Screen capture pop up when the agent shortcut is used? It really delays the end users ability to start their ticket and we do not want it to appear. We do want them to have the ability to submit a screenshot though. Thanks!

Linux Agent

FYI if you are attempting to set up and linux agent. I am currently running CentOs Stream so your mileage may vary depending on your distro. The install appeared to be successful but never actually ran. Turned out that selinux set to enforcing was my issue using the RPM from Sysaid: setenforce 0 rpm -i SysAidAgent_21.4.45.rpm /usr/lib64/SysAid/SetupAgentSettings.out --serverURL=https://sysaid.url --account=account-name --serial=serial-number setenforce 1

Asset IP Address Not Updating

I have search to try and find this answer as this seems like it should be a simple topic, but I can't find it anywhere. We have assets that were found by the WMI scan. These are Windows 10 devices. Weeks have passed since the asset was found and the asset now has a different IP Address. When I try to deploy the agent, I get an error: Deployment to x.x.24.92 failed - Deploy command received Deploy started on machine x.x.24.92 x.x.24.92 - Failed to connect to the target machine via SSH using credentials ntdomain\Administrator x.x.24.92 - Failed to connect to the target machine via SMB using credentials ntdomain\Administrator - System Error: 53 Error Description: The network path was not found. When I ping the computer, I have found that the IP address is different (x.x.24.105)then what is in Sysaid. How do I get this asset to pick up the new IP address?

Import Asset Group into CI record

We have an asset group that is used to identify laptops that we loan to end users. I would like to pull the asset group name into the CI record so that we can easily filter based on that group name. I cannot find a way to import that field since it says that it is a Medium Text field and there is an error if I try to pull it into a Short Text field. Any suggestions for pulling that field? Thank you.

User Creation/Termination/Change

First, If this post is in the incorrect category - please move it or tell me where the appropriate form category this should go in. I am wondering if there is anything with in Sysaid that could be integrated or something that already is that we may not be utilizing. I am the main person who takes new user/termination/change requests. For our New user requests, we have a form on our intranet that sends an email to us and the manager for approval. Once approved by the manager I create the new user in our phone system, ad and then our in house software. I use a small program that was created by a past employee that will generate the new user account for ad, create a temp password and send an email. The problem with this - is it is all tracked through email. Is there any tool or anything that is already integrated into sysaid that could make this process a little more manageable? Also the Changes and Terminations are dealt through email. The reason I don't have them switch over to sysa

Cloud Software License Tracking - Not installed on endpoints

Hello - We are looking to keep track of licensing for our SaaS products by user and count. For example... We currently use Snipe-it to track what licenses are assigned to what user. 5 Licenses for Adobe Pro Cloud -User1 -User2 -User3 All 3 Users are assigned a license 5 Licenses for PlanGrid -User 3 -User 4 -User 5 Would we be able to keep track of who is assigned those licenses in SysAid? - Could we look up User 3 and see that they have a license for Adobe Pro and PlanGrid - Look up User 2 and see they are only assigned Adobe Pro. - Then organize it so we can look up PlanGrid and see that User 3, 4, and 5 are assigned a license - Also have it keep track of license counts when we add/remove users. Hope this makes sense!

Software Inventory

Wondering why the agent doesn't collect the software vendor when it does the inventory. This is crucial information for running reports. I know that i can manually create this in the software section. Currently in the process of creating my own report that will pull from the database since your software reports don't exist barely at all. Would like to add a request to have the agent updated to pull in the Software Vendor when it does an audit.

RCG - vs- Direct cConnection

Afternoon All, After much testing we are finding that Direct Connection works better for us. We are using Sysaid On-Prem and our office is still 100% remote. RCG can be a little.. problematic at times and Direct Connection is just more reliable for us at this time. Does anyone know how to make Direct Connect the default method on the RC tab and how to set the checkbox for encryption by default? Thanks John

Dashboard filter Request time

Hello, I would like to see in the dashboard the number of Active records opened outside the working hours. I've already set the working hours. I tried using the "Request time" filter but I can choose only date and not hours. i.e. from 6pm to 9am of the next day, 5 records has been opened. I want to see this on a dashboard chart. Can anyone help? Thanks

Asset Loan Check-in/out

We have Chromebooks, iPads, etc we loan out both short term and long term. Is there functionality in sysaid to allow me to capture the person's info and device loaned to them? And to see reports of what is in vs out and what gets checked in and out the most?

Mac Agent Usage

I've searched and read through forums, I see the screenshot capability is described as using F11, but that doesnt work for the Mac. It seems F12 takes a screenshot, but I'm not totally sure if that's from the SysAid agent or not, but if I click the SysAid icon in the task bar, it makes the same sound (assuming it's taking a screenshot). I cannot find any documentation on how to use this feature though. If I just click the icon or use F12, where does the screenshot get stored, or does it even get stored? Thanks
