ASSET - Multiple Monitors with Asset Tags

We are faced with a problem.   Also all our users have multiple monitors (2 to 5 monitors).  We are collecting their serial numbers as well as placing and tracking ASSET TAGS on each device.  However, we sucked up all our available asset licensing by collecting them in as individual assets.  The goal is to add them to the user or the workstation.  There is a single monitor collection area there but for our needs we will need to add 9 additional fields (for serial # and asset of each monitor up to 5).  Is that possible to add those and NOT affect our licensing OR do we need to suck it up and buy additional licensing.

Hi @Texwilson47 ,

Thank you for reaching out!

If you want to keep track of hardware, furniture, pieces of software or equipment or other inventory assets that don’t require a license, you can use CIs (configuration items).

To simplify it as much as possible, assets are the those pieces of equipment where you can install the SysAid agent, hence why they are licensed. On the other hand, CIs are not licensed and you can have as many as your license and database storage allows.

You can use the CIs to keep track of the monitors as well as link them to their respective owner. Once linked, you can filter them by owner under Assets > CMDB > CI list. You can also reference this article on how to customize the CIs.
