Has anyone had any success with deploying the SysAid Agent for Mac and having a configuration file that populates with URL, Serial and account? We use Jamf Pro to push out apps and configurations for our macs and I can get the package to install, but it doesn’t fill in the above information.

We do not use the RDS for Mac.

Thanks!

Hi @GHowe ,

It is possible when using Network discovery and RDS unfortunately not sure about Jamf but if this is important to you please add an idea and let’s open it for voting!

So your options from SysAid are:

Manual Agent deployment or Network discovery

Also we had this workshop in septemebr about all the nitty gritty of asset management that you might find interesting:

Cheers,

Yes!

  1. Download the SysAid Agent installer package from Network Discovery > Downloads.
  2. Open the package in Jamf Composer (by converting to source) and going to the AgentConfigurationFile at SysAid Helpdesk > Contents > MacOS.
  3. Right-click on the file and reveal it in the Finder. Open it directly in an editor capable of unlocking the file (alternatively, copy it to your desktop and open the copy).
  4. In the opened AgentConfigurationFile.xml, edit the SysAidServerURL, AccountID, and Serial fields in the AgentConfigurationFile.xml with the appropriate informations and save it. If you opened the copy, drag and drop the copy to the MacOS folder in Composer and overwrite the existing file.
  5. Make sure to apply the group and ownership permissions of the surrounding folder to the file.
  6. Select Build as PKG.
  7. Done! Upload it to Jamf and deploy.
