Merge - messages from the child ticket

Is there a way to let the user know that their ticket is merged and still recieve their reply from the child ticket?

yes, there is the possibility in connection with the status you specify for a merge ticket in the settings.
It is also important to enable the status for notifications for users in the settings and a notification exists with an if formula for the status.
