I’m trying to find the API key to create a RESTful API between SysAid’s Copilot and our company’s intranet.
SysAid Copilot is here with our AI Magic!
Here is the response we thought might assist you:
To create a RESTful API within SysAid, you need to generate or access an API key. Follow these steps to locate or create the API key:
### Steps to Generate an API Key
1. **Log in to SysAid Admin Portal**:
- Use your administrative credentials to log in to the SysAid admin interface.
2. **Navigate to the API Section**:
- Click on the **Settings** icon in the top-right corner of the admin portal.
- From the left-hand menu, select **Integration** and then **SysAid API**.
3. **Generate the API Key**:
- In the SysAid API section, look for the option to generate an API key.
- Click on the **Generate API Key** button.
- Enter a name for the API key (e.g., "RESTful API Key") and select the permissions required for your API usage.
- Click **Save** to generate the key.
4. **Copy and Secure the API Key**:
- Once the API key is generated, it will be displayed on the screen.
- Copy the key and store it securely, as it will not be displayed again.
### Additional Notes
- If you cannot find the option to generate an API key, ensure that you have the necessary administrative permissions.
- For on-premise versions, the API settings might differ slightly. Refer to the SysAid REST API documentation for specific details: [SysAid REST API Guide](https://documentation.sysaid.com/docs/rest-api-guide).
### Testing the API Key
- Use tools like **Postman** to test the API key.
- Authenticate by including the API key in the request header.

Following Steps 1 and 2 get me to the Admin Portal, however under “Integration”, when I select “SysAid API”, I get the following error:
“404 Not Found, The resource could not be found.” This is after following the troubleshooting steps.
When our IT Admin contacted SysAid, we were told that this API key generation tool was no longer valid and has been deactivated. Is this true of the version we are using?
So a few questions:
- Why is the ‘404 Not Found’ error appearing when I’m trying to generate an API key?
- Is this the only way to generate an API key?
- We had access to this option a few months ago. I’m not sure why in the last month it’s no longer accessible.
- We are using build v25.1.70 b2494. Is this issue fixed in Spaces?
- When our initial API key generation failure inquiry was submitted to SysAid support, we were referred to the documentation guide at https://documentation.sysaid.com/docs/rest-api-guide. However, I was still unable to find exactly how to generate an API key for Sysaid’s Chatbot.
Hello,
The SysAid API integration is not supported at the moment, but REST API is. For Copilot, please check this documentation article: SysAid Copilot REST API Guide.
All the best!
Is there an example of some code that was used to integrate SysAid using RESTful API with an intranet we could see as an example to get us started?
