Sounds like you may need to setup a custom field for ‘Room Number’, then add it to the sub-type and then the self-service form itself.

  • In the Admin Portal open the settings ‘cog’ then on the left-hand pane, under ‘Customize’ select ‘Fields Customization’.
  • Select ‘Service Record’ > ‘New’ > Create the ‘Room Number’ field
    • Once the field has become ‘Ready’ continue.
  • Add the ‘Room Number’ field to the sub-type (‘Service Desk Templates’ > ‘Sub Types’)
  • Then add the ‘Room Number’ field to the Request Submission Form (‘Self-Service Portal’ > ‘Request Submission Form’)

Hi Sharimorse,

According to this: Custom Fields in Spaces

Settings > Templates & Fields > Custom Fields.

I don’t have that option, what do I need to do to activate that option.  I am an admin so I am not sure why that option is not there.

Hi @sharimorse,

Here’s how you can create a custom "Room Number" field and add it to the Request/Incident Submission Forms in the Self-Service Portal (SSP):

Step 1: Create the Custom Field

  1. Navigate to Settings:
    • Go to Settings > Customize > Fields.
  2. Add a New Field:
    • Select the relevant module (e.g., Requests or Incidents).
    • Click Add Field.
  3. Configure the Field:
    • Set the Field Name to "Room Number".
    • Choose the Field Type (e.g., Text, Number, etc.).
    • Save the field.

Step 2: Add the Field to the Form

  1. Go to Form Designer:
    • Navigate to Settings > Self-Service Portal > Form Designer.
  2. Edit the Form:
    • Select the form you want to modify (Request or Incident submission form).
  3. Add the Custom Field:
    • Drag and drop the "Room Number" field into the desired section of the form.
  4. Save Changes:
    • Save the form to apply the changes.
  • Open the SSP and submit a test request/incident.
  • Verify that the "Room Number" field appears and functions correctly.
