Did you know that SysAid’s Self-Service Portal, which is the modern and more sophisticated cousin of the End-User Portal (EUP), was launched a couple of years ago? Literally thousands of our customers have enjoyed the benefits of this tool and now it’s time for you to do so too. With any legacy solution comes its limitations and security risks. This is why we’ve made the decision to sunset the EUP, so that you don’t become exposed to these vulnerabilities. Not to mention, the Self-Service Portal is just way better. These are the critical dates of our sunset timeline: Cloud customers: December 2021 On-Premises customers: Q1 2022 release Looking to learn more about what a SSP is all about, read up about it here. : Also, be sure to join our webinar on December 8th at 10 am ET where we’ll cover what the transition from the EUP means for you, and how to boost your self-service capabilities and employee adoption to the next level. Upwards and Onwards, Maayan
Hi all, On 2 May 2022, between 19:50-22:00 UTC, some customers using the Google Chrome browser experienced certificate errors that prevented users from logging in to their system. It originated with changes to Google’s infrastructure and process of evaluating valid certificates. We resolved the error within three hours of notification. Read more about it here SysAid will continue to investigate further to mitigate future incidents, and remain committed to providing our customers with a stable and secure platform Best, Maayan

As you are most likely aware, a critical vulnerability in Apache Log4j, a logging library that’s used in millions of Java-based applications, came to light over the weekend. SysAid is addressing this vulnerability on two fronts – with an immediate workaround as well as the release of both Cloud and On-premises versions that include a fix. We strongly encourage you to implement the workaround as soon as possible. Based upon our initial analysis, we do not expect customers to experience any impact as a result of the workaround. If you have any issues, please contact us ASAP. Guidelines for Cloud and On-prem customers For any questions or issues please contact us by Email: firstname.lastname@example.org or reach out to our customer care live chat Kind regards, Maayan & the SysAid Team

IT Asset Management (ITAM) is the practice that helps your organization manage, control, and protect its IT assets and the IT services that use them. Done well, ITAM will help your organization increase value, support decision making, control costs, and effectively manage risks. To help, this blog considers the new ITIL 4 ITAM guidance and how to use it to improve your ITAM practices. Read what Joe the IT guy has to say Reading IT up, Maayan
Our software architect Jonathan Yom-Tov shares some insight about the process we went through at SysAid, diverting some of its traffic from its monolith to a new microservice and the benefits it reaped from that change. Check IT out on our blog Reading IT up, Maayan #SysAidTech #Tech #SysAidblog
I’m unsure where this post needs to go so Im posting it here. Is there any way to bulk edit helpdesk service requests. The only bulk option I can see on the top menu is to change the status field of requests. I need to be able to change the date & also categories of a load of requests at once rather than going through 300 individual requests. I'm running v6.0.09
We at SysAid haven’t been the only ones busy preparing for a major release – on October 22, Microsoft released the latest version of Windows, Windows 7. Bill Gates promised Newsweek that Windows 7 will be more “user-centric” and will focus on “performance improvements.” Many SysAiders, especially those disappointed with Vista’s performance, aren’t so sure. SysAid Community discussion threads are full with concerns about this next version of Microsoft. Rene Rijk: “We’ll stick to XP as long as possible. Vista is bad and Windows 7 is way too early to implement.” Defector: “Microsoft has listed Windows 7 as a minor release. Makes me think they brought out a poorly functioning product, applied tons of patches, and TA-DA! We have Windows 7.” Lev: “Vista didn’t prove itself and there is no reason to upgrade.” Other SysAiders take a more enthusiastic approach towards Windows 7 and have even enlisted as Windows Beta testers. Dallen.heath: “I believe that a jump from Vista to 7 is g
Hi SysAiders, We decided to call this new WorkShop Series “I didn’t know I can do that!” because this is what we hear all the time from so many of you guys. Seriously. That’s going to change. Because not only are we going to run these workshops with you – and our best SysAid trainers – but we’ve also opened a new Forum, where we can discuss issues and help each other. First workshop is for the new SysAid’s Worksafe app, the free add-on that simplifies daily self-reporting of health statuses and location, while automatically alerting management to potential exposure at work. It’s a must-have in our COVID-19 world. Come get hands-on training for using Worksafe app, at our August 25th workshop. See you there! Dena P.S. Check out the whole series here: https://www.sysaid.com/workshop-series-2020
Hi SysAiders, Happy SysAdmin Appreciation Day!! I hope your colleagues remember what today is and send you kind greetings and gifts :) We love to make you smile and laugh with our silly, far-out, and sometimes cool videos. This year, though, we thought: “Gosh, what to do – smack in the middle of a pandemic?” So, this is what we came up with: the first-ever music video with an original song using lyrics crowdsourced from IT people all over the world, about a topic that is now close to e-v-e-r-y one of us. Introducing “Working From Home” – the music video. Watch & enjoy! Cheers, Dena
Hi SysAiders, We launched an exciting new add-on, called Worksafe app, which can make immediate impact for you – whether you guys are still working remotely or already heading back to the office. In a nutshell: Worksafe app gives you a simple way for your employees to check-in and report on their health statuses and location. It reduces the COVID-19 self-reporting burdens and compliance risk you’re probably experiencing now (or will be very soon). And it’ll give your management real-time visibility to ensure a safe, secure, and productive workforce. Plus – it’s free. Get further details on the SysAid Marketplace, where there's a nice orange button you can click to get the app :) Please let me know what you think in the comments below. Cheers, Dena
Hey guys, As you might have noticed, we are currently going through a beta run of our brand new JoeBot. It can be found in the bottom-right corner of your screen here, and on some other SysAid.com pages. JoeBot is constantly learning, but needs your help to figure out what's important to know! Whenever you have questions or issues, try asking him first and he might be able to help out. Even if he doesn't know the answer yet, he will suggest results from our website, and we will also teach him according to the most popular questions/issues, so he will know much more with time! Check it out :) Cheers, Danny

Hi SysAiders, Hope you are all keeping safe and well. Quarantine life is new for all of us, but we will get through this! I wanted to let you know that SysAid employees have been working remotely (safely) and doing all we can to support you during these crazy days. Recently, we created and published a COVID-19 Resource Hub and it’s chock full of useful, practical tips and guidance. Not to mention some fun stuff too. So if you need a smile, or advice on topics ranging from remote support to continuity planning to digitizing workflows (and more) – please check it out. Visit the COVID-19 Resources Center for IT service management. Would love to hear your feedback/comments (below) about what you see in the Hub. It’s the only way for us to know if we’re on track, and how to improve. Cheers, Dena
