Default device type classifications from SNMP

I have a brand of wireless access points that are being tagged as a 'Printer' type device upon initial discovery. I update the device to 'WAP' enter a serial number, etc. Once SNMP scans again the device is recreated as a 'Printer' type device and I'm left with duplicate entries. Where can I change how Sysaid determines device types from SNMP scans?

Duplicate Assets from WMI & Agent

We setup our SysAid environment to complete a WMI scan and add assets from it. And now we are starting to push out the SysAid agent to devices (via our software installation tool (Microsoft Intune)) -- we are now receiving duplicate entries for the same device. It shows both the WMI and Agent asset (see attached screenshot for the example of an Microsoft Surface device). Won't SysAid see the duplicate device names and merge the two since they came from 2 different discovery types? Should we only use one method of discovery? Any recommendations would be appreciated before we push out the agent to all users. Thanks! Rob IEDA CIO

Capturing Model and Product Codes

This is a long shot, but I am trying to find out if there is a way that the Sysaid Agent can or already does collect information that would be retrieved if I ran the following from Powershell: (Get-CimInstance -ClassName Win32_BaseBoard).Product or Get-CimInstance -ClassName Win32_BaseBoard I would really like to know if some of our models have different product codes. Note: Product Codes are specific to the manufacture, not related to Windows Product Codes.

Auto register of connected devices

I remember during the sales pitch our salesman mentioned that the agent would automatically be able to detect monitors attached etc. I haven't found the setting in SysAid on how to do this. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks

Creating a report of Harddisk models

We are trying to differentiate between computers with HDD vs SSD and wanted to create a list containing computer names and which model of storage they have but it looks like it's impossible since adding "Storage Devices" to the main view on the asset list shows only the number of devices. Is such a thing possible to do ?

Why it is limited

As far as checking all agents are installed. However, it's only showing 50 of 250, missing out some machines on the list what do we need to do?

SNMP command line tools - SNMPWALK, SNMPGET - Examples

For those of you who want to make the most out of the SNMP network scanning - I would like to forward all of your attention to an open source command line tool for snmp queries you can use to learn a lot about your devices and then configure SysAid to extract and save that information. This net-snmp tool will allow you to be able to send simple queries to your SNMP devices and receive the values. You can also run a full SNMP walk command and get all the values from the device. SysAid MAC Agent

Hello All, We are currently setting up our inventory and assets in SysAid Cloud. We want to install the SysAid Agent on both Mac and PC's. My "Mac guru" is asking if there is any way to update the settings within the package before deploying them to OSX. I know he runs scripts to install most of his Mac software. Rather then installing the Agent to all the Macs and then going back to fill in the server information. He was wondering if he can edit the agent settings before he sends it out. If I wasn't clear enough on what I'm asking please let me know. Thanks, Josh
