User Creation/Termination/Change

First, If this post is in the incorrect category - please move it or tell me where the appropriate form category this should go in. I am wondering if there is anything with in Sysaid that could be integrated or something that already is that we may not be utilizing. I am the main person who takes new user/termination/change requests. For our New user requests, we have a form on our intranet that sends an email to us and the manager for approval. Once approved by the manager I create the new user in our phone system, ad and then our in house software. I use a small program that was created by a past employee that will generate the new user account for ad, create a temp password and send an email. The problem with this - is it is all tracked through email. Is there any tool or anything that is already integrated into sysaid that could make this process a little more manageable? Also the Changes and Terminations are dealt through email. The reason I don't have them switch over to sysa

Software Inventory

Wondering why the agent doesn't collect the software vendor when it does the inventory. This is crucial information for running reports. I know that i can manually create this in the software section. Currently in the process of creating my own report that will pull from the database since your software reports don't exist barely at all. Would like to add a request to have the agent updated to pull in the Software Vendor when it does an audit.

RCG - vs- Direct cConnection

Afternoon All, After much testing we are finding that Direct Connection works better for us. We are using Sysaid On-Prem and our office is still 100% remote. RCG can be a little.. problematic at times and Direct Connection is just more reliable for us at this time. Does anyone know how to make Direct Connect the default method on the RC tab and how to set the checkbox for encryption by default? Thanks John

Dashboard filter Request time

Hello, I would like to see in the dashboard the number of Active records opened outside the working hours. I've already set the working hours. I tried using the "Request time" filter but I can choose only date and not hours. i.e. from 6pm to 9am of the next day, 5 records has been opened. I want to see this on a dashboard chart. Can anyone help? Thanks

Asset Loan Check-in/out

We have Chromebooks, iPads, etc we loan out both short term and long term. Is there functionality in sysaid to allow me to capture the person's info and device loaned to them? And to see reports of what is in vs out and what gets checked in and out the most?

Mac Agent Usage

I've searched and read through forums, I see the screenshot capability is described as using F11, but that doesnt work for the Mac. It seems F12 takes a screenshot, but I'm not totally sure if that's from the SysAid agent or not, but if I click the SysAid icon in the task bar, it makes the same sound (assuming it's taking a screenshot). I cannot find any documentation on how to use this feature though. If I just click the icon or use F12, where does the screenshot get stored, or does it even get stored? Thanks

Make Last Logged-in User as the Owner

Hello, I was wondering if there is a way to make the last logged-in user of an asset the Owner? Could we use the Login History tab of an Asset to auto-populate the Owner field on the Information tab? We have the agent deployed to a majority of our assets. As I understand it, the last logged-in user would be whomever it was at the time of a network discover scan. This would be sufficient information for us. TIA

RCG Issue

Hi, I am having issues with one user who works on another companies network. When trying to use RCG they receive the prompt to allow the connection and I can see within Asset Management the message "the remote computer confirmed the remote control session" however it just sits on that message and never actually connects the session. Does anyone have any ideas on this? From the RCG documentation it should only require port 443 and access to our sysaid instance. We are able to use RCG fine on other similar sites.

Disabled Assets

Group Naming

Hello, Since there is no way to rename a group is there a way to move all the tickets from the old group to the new group name? We don't want to lose any tickets or reporting history.

Need help scanning linux servers

Not sure how to scan linux servers, I have tried snmp and wmi scans with ssh and neither work. I use protquery from my RDS to the linux server and it can connect fine.. so the question is how do you scan linux servers? I am not using the agent, just using the network discovery feature.

Monitoring and Monitoring Templates

I recently inherited an instance of SysAid, and have been doing a lot of reading up on the platform over the past few days. While the team has been using the Help Desk functionality heavily, there has not been much focus on the monitoring side of things, which is where my role comes in. First the basics: Yes, I am setup as an administrator. Yes, I've read the pertinent information in the SysAid Help modules. Yes, I searched the forums. Yes, I Googled it... Now on to the issue: We have a fairly significant number of servers and critical systems which need to be monitored. While I could set up individual monitors for each device, I've seen a number of references to using "Monitoring Templates" which would make this much easier. Sadly, the option to view said templates, for Workstations and/or Servers, does not exist in my view. Finally, the kicker: I find in the email history of the previous admin that our license is expiring in less than 30 days. So I either need to get this figur

Sysaid agent manual install successful - asset not showing up

Installed sysaid agent on windows 10 laptop successfully. It's been over an hour and the laptop is not showing up on the asset list. Any way to find asset's product key for certain software?

Right now you are able to click on each individual asset and find a product key for a specific type of software under the software tab. I was wondering if SysAid has the capabilities to list all the assets product key for a specific software. For example if I wanted a list of everyone on our network's Microsoft Office 2003 key is that possible?

Agent Status not corretly reported to Network Discovery --> RDP

Hallo, I have the following issue: Agents correctly deployed in version 20.1.32.: I can veryfy it by going directly oin the pcs or giving a look the the on premise tool "Deploy SysAid agents". On the Cloud I can see only some psc reporting the Agent in the current version and working - but only for few of them - the Others are visible but the status of the agent is "Not Installed" - and this is false !! Note, almost all the pcs are identical both in Hardware and in Sotware configuration. I verified with wireshark that the pcs reported themselbes to the cloud service correctly - can anyone help me please ? Thanx

Inventory update issues

We continue to have issues with some pc's not updating. When we click update now nothing happens on some of our PC's. The only solution we have been given is to undeploy the agent and redeploy it. That option is taking too long. I'm attaching a few logs from 2 different PC's. Each one is getting a different error. 1 is getting this error: ttpGetReqHandler::SendGetMessagesRequest Failed to send http get request: URL = https://cent******** The other is getting this: Operating system error code: 10061, Description No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it Exception description: Unable to connect to the remote server Inner Exception description: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. If I undeploy and redeploy the updates start happening again but it seems like they just stop working again after a while.

Deploying agent to Linux

With version 8.5.05, I believe you can now deploy the new agent to linux servers. I tried to do this, but it failed with the following reason: "lshw not found" Am I doing something wrong?

Existing Asset Database into Sysaid

Invalid Account Credentials - SysAid Free

I'm attempting to install the sysaid agent on a few servers but regardless of what I do I can't get it installed. Installed I get "Invalid Account Credentials: Please Try again". I've gone so far as copying and pasting straight out of my downloads page but it still doesn't work. What am I missing?

Incorrect Operating System displayed
