SysAid REST API Returns Incorrect Value

The standard key field ‘totalTime’ always returns the SR# and not the Total Activities time (sum of the time in SR’s activities). Issues Posting to the Change Request Endpoint

Hi, I'm trying to send a request to the Change End Point http://helpdesk:8080/api/v1/sr?type=change&templateID=1 and I am getting the following error back Status 400 - Message 'Failed to load service record template:5' I am able to successfully post a Request using the end point http://helpdesk:8080/api/v1/sr?type=request&templateID=12 Any ideas what is going wrong please?

not recieving a JSESSION cookie upon login in REST API

HI, I'm using postman to test the REST API and using interceptor to store the cookie that is sent back My cookie that I receive from the login endpoint looks like this: SERVERID=inst05us-autoscale-app3|Ye8OW|Ye8Ny I do see this cookie included in my headers when trying to hit the SR endpoint to test, but I receive a 401 error saying I need to login to sysaid first. The documentations leads me to believe that i need to be receiving a JSESSIONID cookie but that doesn't seem to be what I'm getting back?

API - Why can't we update assets?

Why does Sysaid not have functionality to update an asset via API? You can update a CI but then our Asset and CI information do not match. If we were allowed to update an asset then the system would sync over that update to the CI. I think something needs to change... rather allow us to update an asset or for the CI and Assets to synchronize in both directions.

Rest API - Asset Name

There doesn't seem to be a good key that contains the Asset's name when viewing the details. It does list the Asset ID in multiple keys but I am needing the name of the Asset. It also does have the Asset name as part of the "network" key but that doesn't seem to always be the case. Is there something I'm missing? For instance: An Asset with the host name "PBNETWORK-1" can be queried by the API using the hostname. But the results from the query do not return any keys with the host name value. Instead the keys are of the Asset ID which in this case is something like "DELL-DNDM999".

get information via REST api in python

hi there I have problem when I want to get information via REST in python requests I don't know which protocol should I use for Authentication from browser I can get api responses because I can logged in via login page but in python code I can't login because in python I have to define api authentication protocol for example oauth1 or basic or ... I tested with basic authentication but I got error I guess sysaid doesn't support basic auth please help

Updating Service Record via REST API

Hi Guys, I'm fairly new to SysAid and have been getting to grips with using Powershell to retrieve and update service records. I've been successful in the former, however when attempting to update records I am running into an issue. The script runs without error and viewing the ticket history in the browser shows that it has been updated, but the actual fields don't appear to update at all. Example below: $body = '{"id":"123456","info":[{"key":"priority","value":"0"}]}' Invoke-restmethod -uri https://companynamehere.sysaidit.com/api/v1/sr/123456 -WebSession $session -method put -ContentType application/json -body $body The scenario is that we have a number of old tickets that have an out of date priority set and we need to change them to a new one before we disable or delete the invalid priority. Has anyone else had this issue and been able to overcome it? Any help appreciated, thanks.

SysAid REST API - Action Items

According to the documentation, we should be able to retrieve the action items for a given service request using the following URL: GET/action_item?view={view_name}&fields={field1,field2..}&type={type}&archive={archive}&ids={id1,id2..}&staticFilterId={filter_id}&{filter1}={filter1_value}&{filter2}={filter2_value}...&query={search_criteria}&offset={offset}&limit={limit}&sort={field}&dir={dir}... The only required parameter is ids - a list of comma separated SR IDs to return their action items. However, when I issue an authenticated request to the URL above, I always get a 500 response code with the payload below: {'status': 500, 'message': None} What could be causing the server side error? Unable to create SR with 3 Category levels via REST API

Hi Im trying to create an SR using the REST API via Postman (initially), however although the SR is created not all the fields are updated. I know the values exist and match in the SysAid system. From the below sample JSON, the problem_sub_type and third_level_category fields, and the custom field CustomColumn405sr date/time field don't update (also tried the update SR API - I get the same result). Error 500 - "message": "Failed to load list of service records"

Hi all, I'm using Postman and when calling the API (GET /...sr?view=CAFM Update) to get a list of SRs matching the 'CAFM Update' view, I get an error 500 response: { "status": 500, "message": "Failed to load list of service records" } I can successfully use the GET /...sr?view=CAFM New API call to return SRs matching that view. Could someone advise what the error means and how to resolve it? If I try to use the 'CAMF Update' view in SysAid portal, I don't get any results - could this me what the message is saying? This is an issue I need resolving ASAP so grateful for any advise you can offer. Thanks

.NET C# SysAid Api (Basic Ticket Submit with code)

So, after spending all my time doing this from scratch I figured I'd save everyone else a few hours of google/forum searching. This is the quick way to get a basic C# SysAidApi going to submit Tickets from your own webpage (references at the bottom in case you also wish to load them into your UI). It's very easy to do however, finding the documentation to do this is a time sink and is what makes this harder than it should be. First, get your wsdl from the SysAid software (Settings > Integration > SysAid API). If you aren't the admin you'll have to go find your admin and get the wsdl link from them. After you've done that, using VS 2013 (steps will be similar for older versions), make a new blank C# project that outputs a class library -do not mark options for web api in the project template window, you want a blank/empty project -I tried adding the service reference to an existing project but, I ran into issues with my code not being able to find the references/namespace

REST API Usage and getting cust_notes?

Hello! I am using the REST API (and formatted JSON) to get ticket data. I am able to log in, create tickets, and get ticket data (certain fields, filtering, etc all seem to work just fine). I'm running into a problem with cust_notes though. I can't seem to get the notes from the ticket through a http/get request. Cannot get offset to work properly with Rest API

Unable to login using SysAid API

Hi. I'm using postman to make a post call to https://mycompanyname.sysaidit.com/api/v1/login and adding on the login parameters as, https://mycompanyname.sysaidit.com/api/v1/login?user_name=GivenuserName&password=GivenPassword and I keep getting this error. Any idea how can I get it to working? I'm using postman to make this test call.
